i made some split pea/vegetable soup. i don't know how it turned out. i'm sure it is edible and nutritious, so i will eat it and suffer the consequences if it's not good. sometimes i like to pretend like i am starving and whatever food i'm eating is the last thing i get to eat. i'm sure it will be good.
earlier today i burned some rice because i went to look at something on the computer and forgot about the rice. d'oh. the smell of burnt-ness lingers. at least i washed it out of my hair.

needful things
what if someone won lotto and became a millionaire but they spent ALL their money on buying at least one of each item in the Harriet Carter catalog? what kind of millionaire would that be? all of those products are positively miraculous and i don't see how anyone lives successfully without them!

bouncy bouncy bouncy
my grandma wanted this so i gave it to her. i am making another one, but it is smaller because i don't have as much of the red felt left.
i inflated my exercise ball, but not enough, really-- but it is really fun to bounce on.
i'm sorry, but pamela anderson is such a bad actress that she can't even play sexy right. her boobs don't jiggle. there is something wrong about that.

this is how i roll
i've been highly irritable today... started my period. figured i'd announce it on the internet!
if i do start working for in-home support it would be interesting to do an ethnography on people who use that service. like... old people. attitudes they encounter and attitudes they have towards modern society or whatever.
i've been studying mind-control techniques so i can manipulate people to do my bidding just by being in my MERE presence.
okay. i'm annoyed right now. gotta go.

re-use
how often do u re-use your bathtowel before throwing in the hamper?
i keep using mine until it starts to smell un-fresh.
i pay attention.
i was thinking today there are probably a lot of rich people who use a fresh bathtowel each time they bathe. of course, there are also probably some people who don't even have towels to use. maybe they roll around in reeds or they run around naked and air dry.

i am going to make a felt ladybug throwpillow today.
we are going for a long drive.
still haven't had a chance to inflate my stability ball.
the thrift store is no longer taking clothes because they have way too many. so shouldn't they have a clothing sale? duh!
whatever, maybe they are planning one that i don't know about.
i got an awesome green coat there yesterday for five bucks. it is down and has a plush, brown collar. it is belted. i love it. v. warm and cozy.

everything's relative
sometimes the woodburning stove makes it get REALLY blazing hot in here. It feels like Africa. I remember one time I cleaned house for this woman who was from Senegal and she would keep the heater on when it wasn’t even cold (to me) but it was really hot when I was working. It was also one of those houses you have to clean when it isn’t even dirty and your own house is way dirtier and you should be at home cleaning IT.

a bit deflated
scott bought me a stability ball yesterday. i've been wanting one ever since janet said they make good computer chairs. plus it came with a workout dvd and book. i have so much exercise paraphanelia now, it's crazy. crazy/cool.
but THIS particular ball didn't come with a pump! every other one does, so i just assumed this one would, too. that's BOGUS, man. so i have to wait until later when we can take it somewhere to get it inflated.

foot-in-mouth syndrome
One of the things we did this weekend was stop by my Alma mater (HSU) and touch bases with a couple of my old teachers to ask for job references. I thought the personal touch would be helpful. I ended up dealing with a certain teacher whom no matter how much I wanted to have rapport with him, I just DIDN’T! it sucks.
Anyway, he was the first person I saw and so I talked to him for a second, asking about getting referrals. He gave me some advice and information and sent me along my way. Out in the hallway outside his office, I told scott that my old teacher had made it clear non-verbally that HE wasn’t going to be the one to give me a referral. I feel that I have a bad history with this guy besides that we were never closely involved… his specialty was outside my focus. I don’t know exactly why it is but he stirs in me feelings strong of ANGER and dislike! Maybe he reminds me of someone unpleasant from my past. Anyway, then scott says to me, pretty LOUDLY that I was talking LOUD and I got all embarrassed because my ears were plugged up from this sinus infection I have. So, I ran out of that building and started having a panic attack and left before I’d had a chance to talk to another professor that I’d wanted to ask. Argh.
And then I was like, AH! I HATE THAT TEACHER! Because it seems like I HAVE to make an ass of myself under his influence. It is UN-avoidable, bound to happen!
i remember, when i was going there, i was going to counseling and i would talk about how mad i was at this teacher. and on my review of him at the end of the semester i was all haughty and like, "i would prefer to have more lecture time and less socializing during class sessions." etc.
i would never really WANT him to give me a reference. whatEVER.

mad as a hatter
I hate it when people make assumptions about other people. I shouldn’t do it, either. I mean, just because it appears as though someone is poor or simple or boring doesn’t mean that is actually the case. You might think they are not smart or interesting because they seem to not talk much or don’t dress very well. But you don’t know where they have been or what they have done or who they have known.
I tried on these boots today at payless and they were definitely cute. I guess $30 is reasonable. BUT what I should actually get are these moon boots. or something more practical for snow.

fall has arrived
Last night, I made some videos of myself talking to myself, basically. I have a sinus infection, though, so I don’t think I will share those videos. My throat is swollen, ears plugged… etc. not a pretty picture..
I’m looking into doing online freelance work like proofreading or typing up junk or what-have-you.
It’s raining today. The sky is grey, the roads are dark and shiny.
We have a fire in the stove and I’m drinking hot cider.
Scott’s napping on the couch with one of the cats.
Sophie is also taking a really long nap.
We’ll probably go into town later and get some wine, among other things… like groceries.

that's what i think
i think, now, that if i had to pick an animal to be, i would be a zebra.
my dad used to think that is what "God is doing" (alan watts would also say this)-- just experiencing every experience. what it is like to be an alpaca, and orangutan or a single cell. all sensory experiences, through some kind of reincarnation

We saw School for Scoundrels and I was standing outside the theater and I took a picture of the jackass 2 poster of Johnny Knoxville and the lady who worked at the theater came out and asked me if I knew that was a felony because that poster is copyrighted material and I had to delete the picture off my camera. She offered to take my name and save the poster for me later.
I deleted the picture. Whatever. I don’t really think that makes sense. It was like she was just waiting for someone to do that so she could go out and ask them if they knew that was a felony.

go ahead
I do not watch sports.
I can’t work out today because I have all this mad sinus pressure in my noggin which would definitely not be conducive to bouncing around in aerobic endeavors. Yoga would probably be acceptable. But there are always so many reasons I can’t work out.
- I don’t have time!
- I have to do the dishes.
- My throat hurts.
- I want coffee.
And today I am going to make potato salad because I have never made it before. And we are going to go see that new movie with jon heder. School for scoundrels. We’re going to a matinee. I like matinees cuz they are cheaper.
p.s. porknbeanz55: i have un-banned you. talk about my sisters tits til the cows come home. it makes my blog more interesting.

one-track mind
When I stare at my blog and sometimes when I’m staring at other blogs, I am THINKING about stuff. I am not just sitting there being a zombie going “I love myself” or “I love this other person” no.
Can anyone tell me why it is that, in general, men’s bodies are not considered public property for open viewing and discussion the way we treat women’s bodies?
