separation of church and state

I didn't watch the Inaugural Address. I am the embodiment of the disenchanted/disaffected. I did see a snippet of the praying part and felt that it was SO WRONG! What is this-- CHURCH? Come on! It's like totally saying that you have to be Christian! I mean, a lot of people in the United States are not Christian. I enjoy having freedom of religion. Not IMPOSED CHURCH! Sorry; it peeves me. What is it saying? What message does this send? Perhaps it is true... politics and religion go together like (insert lame cliche here). "I'm completely in favor of the separation of Church and State. My idea is that these two institutions screw us up enough on their own, so both of them together is certain death. " --George Carlin
