how do we know what we look like? does it matter to our spiritual development? Do we need to look any specific way? It is difficult to ponder. Are we what we look like? Yes. The experience and the experiencer are one. Is one of us within and the other without? or are we both within? Wow, dude, this is heavy! these questions are answered in Alan Watts' lectures. We have the formal self and then the subtle self. The formal self is what we look like. The inner self and the outer self (what is outside of one)are intertwined to the point of really being the same. Both are actually inner.
