yesterday morning there was a parade, mostly it was just a fire engine blowing its siren and a bunch of trucks full of kids and covered with balloons. they also threw candy which people went out and collected off the street. i don't think it was meant to be in recognition of cinco de mayo, though. there was no indication of that.
