when all hope is gone

War of the Worlds was good. It really was. it was not at all sleep-inducing. i especially enjoyed the relationship the tom cruise character 'ray' has with his children. he is able to convey vulnerability in his facial expressions. i liked the feel of the relationships between the characters, which gave the science fiction a feeling of reality and believability. tha aliens seemed alien. that was good. and i found the movie to be quite scary, too! just imagining being in a state of disaster and pandemonium like that. it's actually cathartic to watch a movie that lets me get out some of those stress chemicals, if that makes any sense.
